Dull, Dehydrated or Thinning Skin
Skin that looks tired, grey or crepey has usually lost three things: water, collagen and the ability to repair itself. Three skin boosters each put one back, and they are not interchangeable. Profhilo rehydrates and remodels. Sunekos Performa rebuilds collagen and elastin in thin, crepey skin. Polynucleotides repair damaged, reactive or thin under-eye skin. Dr Nish Shah MD, the Official UK Trainer for Sunekos, tells you which your skin needs at your assessment.
1 · Hydrates & remodels — Profhilo
– Dehydrated, dull skin with early laxity
– 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart
– Glow from 4 weeks; lasts 6–9 months
2 · Rebuilds collagen — Sunekos Performa
– Thin, crepey skin: cheeks, neck, under-eyes
– 4 sessions, 1–2 weeks apart
– Skin thickens; lines soften
3 · Repairs — Polynucleotides
– Damaged, reactive or thin under-eye skin
– 3 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart
– Repair signals, not volume
Not sure which you are? Most skin needs one, some needs two in sequence. The assessment decides.

The Treatment
Why Does My Skin Look Dull, Dry or Thin?
Healthy skin holds water, is thick with collagen and elastin, and repairs itself overnight. From the mid-30s it loses all three. Hyaluronic acid, which holds the water, falls first and the skin looks flat and grey. Collagen and elastin thin and the skin goes crepey. The cells that run repairs slow down, and sun, stress and smoking outpace them.
That is why one skin booster cannot fix every skin. Profhilo puts back water and spreads through the skin to remodel it. Sunekos Performa gives the collagen-making cells the amino acids they build with. Polynucleotides switch on repair in skin that is damaged, reactive or too thin to take anything heavier. The wrong one does nothing for your skin.
Dr Nish works out which you have at your assessment, by looking at the skin itself, not the face around it. Then he recommends one booster, or two in sequence, and Dermapen 4 microneedling where the surface itself needs rebuilding. If the problem is sagging rather than skin quality, he says so and recommends tightening or lifting instead.
THREE BOOSTERS, THREE JOBS
Hydrate. Rebuild. Repair.
Which Does Your Skin Need?
Dr Nish is the Official UK Trainer for Sunekos and injects every booster himself, so the recommendation follows your skin, not the product a clinic stocks.
- 1. Dehydrated and dull → Profhilo. Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid injected at 10 points per side; it spreads through the skin, rehydrates it and remodels it from within. 2 sessions 4 weeks apart. Glow from 4 weeks; lasts 6–9 months. Face, neck, hands and décolletage.
- 2. Thin and crepey → Sunekos Performa. Hyaluronic acid plus the six amino acids the skin uses to build collagen and elastin. 4 session 1 to 2 weeks apart, each building on the last. The skin thickens and fine lines soften. Cheeks, neck, under-eyes.
- 3. Damaged or reactive → polynucleotides. Purified DNA fragments that switch on the skin’s own repair. For thin under-eye skin, redness-prone or post-acne skin, and skin that reacts to everything else. 3 sessions 2–4 weeks apart.
- Texture and pores → Dermapen 4 microneedling. Where the surface itself is rough, open-pored or scarred, a Dermapen 4 course rebuilds it mechanically. Planned by Dr Nish, delivered by a trained nurse to his depth plan. Boosters between sessions.
- Sagging, not skin quality → tighten or lift. Boosters improve the skin you have; they do not lift it. Where the real problem is laxity or descent, Dr Nish recommends Sofwave™ or threads instead, and the booster comes after.
Profhilo vs Sunekos Performa
— Hydrate or Rebuild?
1. Profhilo — Hydrates & Remodels
— For dehydrated, dull skin with early laxity
2. Sunekos Performa — Rebuilds
— For thin, crepey skin
WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
Dehydrated, Thinning, Damaged
— or Sagging?
Four kinds of skin walk into a consultation. Here is what each is told.

- 2 sessions
- Glow from 4 weeks
- Often the first booster anyone has
Thinning — Sunekos Performa
- Crepey cheeks, neck or under-eyes
- 4 sessions
- Skin thickens; lines soften
- The Official UK Trainer injects it
Damaged — Polynucleotides
- Reactive, red, post-acne or very thin
- 3 sessions
- Repair, not volume
- Often before any other booster
Sagging — Tighten or Lift
- Skin has loosened or dropped
- Sofwave™ or PDO threads first
- Boosters afterwards
- Dr Nish will say so

Suitability
Is a Skin Booster Right for Me?
Yes, if the problem is the skin itself: dull, dry, thin or damaged. If the problem is sagging, a booster alone will disappoint, and Dr Nish tells you at consultation.
Good Candidates
- Skin that looks flat, grey or tired
- Dryness that no cream fixes
- Crepey texture on the cheeks, neck or under the eyes
- Fine lines that show when the skin is dry
- Redness-prone, reactive or post-acne skin
- Thin, veiny hands
- Any age from the late 20s, every skin tone
May Not Be Suitable
- Sagging or dropped tissue as the main problem — Sofwave™ or threads first; Dr Nish will say so
- Active skin infection or acne flare in the area
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Known allergy to hyaluronic acid or, for Sunekos, to any of its amino acids
- Known fish allergy (polynucleotides are discussed case by case)
- Blood thinners without medical review
The only way to know for certain is a consultation with Dr Nish. He will assess your anatomy and goals in person and give you an honest recommendation. The consultation is £50, redeemable in full against treatment, with no obligation to proceed.

Profhilo is pure hyaluronic acid that rehydrates and remodels the skin; Sunekos Performa is hyaluronic acid plus six amino acids that the skin uses to rebuild collagen and elastin; polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that switch on the skin’s own repair. Profhilo suits dull, dehydrated skin with early laxity and takes 2 sessions. Sunekos suits thin, crepey skin on the cheeks, neck and under-eyes and takes four. Polynucleotides suit damaged, reactive, post-acne or very thin under-eye skin and take three. They are not interchangeable, and Dr Nish Shah MD, the Official UK Trainer for Sunekos, tells you which your skin needs at consultation.
The right booster depends on what your skin has lost, which Dr Nish identifies by examining the skin itself at consultation. If it looks flat, grey and dry, it has lost water: Profhilo. If it has gone thin and crepey, it has lost collagen and elastin: Sunekos Performa. If it is reactive, red, post-acne or paper-thin under the eyes, it has lost the ability to repair: polynucleotides. Many skins do well with two in sequence, and where the real problem is sagging rather than skin quality, Dr Nish recommends tightening or lifting first.
At Medisha Clinic in Mayfair, Profhilo is £350 per session or £700 for the course of 2; Sunekos Performa is £350 per session or £1,100 for the course of 4; polynucleotides are £350 per session or £950 for the course of 3. Profhilo for the neck or hands is £350 per area per session. Dermapen 4 microneedling is priced per session and course on its own page. A review after every course is included. Consultation with Dr Nish is £50, redeemable in full against treatment. The clinic is at 58 South Molton Street, Mayfair, London W1K 5SL, 3 minutes from Bond Street station.
No — skin boosters improve the quality of the skin you have; they do not lift tissue that has dropped or tighten skin that has loosened. Profhilo gives a mild firming as it remodels, but a sagging jawline needs Sofwave™ to tighten or PDO threads to lift, and a booster afterwards to improve the skin over the result. Dr Nish performs all of these and will tell you at consultation if your real problem is sagging rather than skin quality.
Profhilo needs 2 sessions 4 weeks apart, with glow visible from about 4 weeks after the first. Sunekos Performa needs 4 session 1 to 2 weeks apart, with the skin visibly thicker from the second and building for months. Polynucleotides need 3 sessions 2–4 weeks apart, with repair showing over the course. Results last 6–9 months and are kept with a single top-up session. Dr Nish reviews you 4 weeks after each course.
Downtime after a skin booster is minimal: each session leaves small raised bumps at the injection points that flatten within hours to a day, and mild redness for a day or two. You can go back to work the same day; make-up can go on after 12 hours. Heavy exercise, saunas, alcohol and facials are avoided for 48 hours. Dr Nish gives written aftercare and his direct contact details on the day.
Yes — Profhilo is designed for the neck, hands and décolletage as well as the face, and the neck is where it is often most visible. Sunekos Performa is used on the neck and under the eyes. Where the neck or chest skin has loosened rather than thinned, Sofwave™ tightens it first and the booster follows. Dr Nish assesses each area separately at consultation.
No — fillers add volume and change shape; skin boosters add hydration, collagen and repair and change nothing about the shape of the face. Profhilo and Sunekos are both hyaluronic acid, but they are formulated to spread through the skin rather than hold a shape. Nothing about a skin booster shows; the skin simply looks healthier. Where volume has been lost, that is a separate conversation about structural filler, and Dr Nish performs both.
Yes — the combinations are planned as one programme. Dermapen 4 microneedling rebuilds texture and pores, with Profhilo or Sunekos between or after sessions to improve the skin’s quality. Sofwave™ tightens loosened skin first, with a booster 4–12 weeks later to improve the tightened skin. Polynucleotides are often used first in damaged or reactive skin to make it ready for anything else. Dr Nish sets the order at consultation.
Most patients start in their 30s, when hydration and collagen first fall and the skin starts to look dull, but there is no fixed age; the decision is based on what your skin has lost. In the late 20s and 30s a single Profhilo course once or twice a year is often enough. From the 40s, thin and crepey skin usually needs Sunekos Performa, and sagging needs tightening or lifting first. Dr Nish assesses the skin itself, not the number.
Side effects are mild and temporary for most patients: small bumps and redness at the injection points for a day or two, occasionally a small bruise. Allergy to hyaluronic acid is very rare; Sunekos contains amino acids and polynucleotides are derived from fish, so known allergies are discussed at consultation. The rare but serious risk with any injectable is injection into a blood vessel, which Dr Nish is trained to recognise and manage. All risks are explained at consultation.
Medisha Clinic offers Profhilo, Sunekos Performa and polynucleotides under one roof, chosen for your skin and injected by Dr Nish Shah MD, the Official UK Trainer for Sunekos who teaches the protocol to other doctors.
